The "Magic Button" on Google TV launches, but not on a Chromecast.

A newly designed "customizable button" for Google TV, which is not yet available on Google hardware, is used in Walmart's upcoming Onn 4K Pro.

A real-world remote for a future streaming box—made by Walmart—has been observed in the public using Google's much-rumored "Magic Button" shortcut for Google TV.

Walmart's still-unreleased Onn 4K Pro streaming box, which is powered by Google TV, was obtained by AFTVnews, and the remote control has a new star button in the upper right corner. It is simply referred to as the "customizable button" by the device, and it can be configured to function as an input switcher or as a shortcut to an app. It takes the place of the earlier Onn streaming box remotes' dedicated TV input button.

Though it has been circulating for years as a component of hardware that is near Google TV, the button has not really surfaced until recently. It was first mentioned in promotional materials for Google's 2020 Chromecast TV launch. Then, in beta code for Android TV, it surfaced last year, raising the possibility that it may make an appearance in a future Chromecast device dubbed "Magic Button." On May 14, Google will have its I/O developer conference. It is probable that the corporation may unveil a new Chromecast version at this event.

Last week, Superdell-TV leaked the Onn 4K Pro during a livestream on YouTube. Along with "Pro" features like Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision support, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage, the new device also has an integrated smart speaker. Additionally, the huge "Free TV" button on the remote leads to Google's FAST channels. Although the gadget is not yet listed on Walmart's website, the leaks indicate that an official release is likely to occur shortly.
