The OnePlus 12 and OnePlus Open devices are now receiving the second beta version of Android 15.
The business states that this update is "best suited for developers and other sophisticated users" and advises against using it if "you have little to no experience in software development, if you anticipate to use the device as a daily driver" because it is still in the early phases of development. Therefore, it is advised that you only download the update if you feel confident using possibly unstable software.
The official statement on the OnePlus forum states that the main goals of Android 15 Beta 2 are to enhance system performance and stability. A patch for a bug that prevented the Auto Pixelate feature from functioning during screenshot previews is also included. Issues with split-screen mode will also be fixed, notably for OnePlus Open devices.
But take aware that there are bugs with this release, which is currently in beta. In the most recent release, OnePlus has enumerated the problems they have found thus far.
The company states that users of the OnePlus 12 may experience issues with Air Gestures, changing camera modes, choosing icon styles in the Wallpapers & Style settings, and playing music. Reports of problems with probabilistic stability are also available.
Similar problems with Air Gestures, icon styles, and audio playback will affect owners of the OnePlus Open. Furthermore, the taskbar may appear strangely when using floating windows, photographs may not display the ProXDR button, the booting animation may be incomplete, and recent task cards may not disappear after dividing the screen.
